A lesson plan for ESL teachers.

Using popular songs is an effective and enjoyable way of teaching English. These videos are perfect to conduct a music quiz during a lesson. How? It's very simple.

1. Divide your class into groups.

2. Play the song and each group must complete the lyrics (1 point for each word)

3. Stop the video, check the answers, and write the points on the board.

4. Next, students have to choose the right definition for the words and phrases which appear in the song (1 point for each correct answer)

5. Stop the video, check the answers and write the points on the board.

6. Finally, students have to guess the artist, the title and the year of release of the song (1 point for each correct guess).

7. Students can get 9 or 10 points for each song (depending on the song) and you can play a few songs during a music quiz like that.
